About Us
What is “LEAF”
Launched in June 2024, LEAF is a brand-new student leadership development program under The Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) with a vision of fostering the growth and success of student societies and leaders at the University of Hong Kong. Our mission is to promote leadership skills advancement, ethical conducts and compliance, accountability building in student organisers and facilitate effective student-led activity organisation. We carry out our mission through organising a wide range of leadership skills and moral education activities, formulating policies, guidelines and regulations, establishing a resources library and feedback channel for student organisers as well as connecting students with advisory support network.

The Concept of the Logo
The logo of the LEAF embodies CEDARS’ role as the supporting branches and trunks of the tree, nurturing the growth of leaves. The prominent feature of the logo is the alphabet “L”, representing LEAF and serving as the foundation for the design. Adorned with different shades of green, the L symbolises the unity in diversity of student societies at HKU. The concept of growth and support is further emphasized through the inclusion of a small leaf extending from the main trunk. We envision the student societies, or the leaves, to unfurl and bask in the sunlight of knowledge, and reach towards the sky of their potential as they strive to contribute their unique beauty to the collective canopy of a safe, healthy, inclusive, vibrant and inspiring campus environment.
