CEDARS-LEAF was proud to kick off the โจ1st training sessionโจ of the โโโโ ๐ญ๐ฉ๐ฐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ โโโโ programme on last Saturday (22 Feb)! ๐
Bringing together 100 HKU students and members of the blind community as ๐ญ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ฐ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ (๐ญ๐ฉ๐ฐ), the programme aims to foster mutual understanding through sports๐ช
In the 1st training session, our students had a blast getting to know their buddies through fun ice-breaking games like Human Bingo, Group Sharing with Dixit Cards, and Blindfolded Play-Doh Whispers, led by the fantastic @slashlifehk. Not only did these games challenge their senses and communication skills, but they also helped build strong bonds and rapport among everyone๐ค
It was awesome to see students from a variety of backgrounds, with many hailing from the Faculty of Medicine, Science, Social Sciences, and Engineering. We also had quite a lot of international students joining us from different countries like Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, France, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Tajikistan๐ Despite their diverse origins, students all came together through kindness and a shared passion for learning. ๐ Theyโre not just here to support the blind community, but to grow into more empathetic, healthier, and friendlier individuals along the way. ๐
Alongside all the human connections, students also dove into 10 essential strength exercises using elastic resistance bands, guided by the professional trainers at CSE. ๐ช These exercises aim to make workouts easy and accessible, so even a beginner can do them on their own anywhere!
